What a grand welcome to the new year by our very own Indian Cricket Team. Numero Uno status in the purest form of the game; ODI series win over the Lankans to take the No 2 spot; swashbuckling performances by Delhites - Viru, Gauti and Kohli; along with some unforgettable knocks by the little master and last but not the least - sound captiancy by Mr Cool, Mahi. So what's next in line now?
With the tri series in Bangladesh coming up next week, we have got a chance to make it to the No 1 spot once again in the ODIs and with the likes of Viru et al, and the kind of form they all are in, it seems to me that the target will be achieved in no time. Also, as T20 WC is scheduled to take place in April this year, I hope that we do well in that format also and move from the current 6th spot to atleast top 3.
So, lets hope for the best and let the new year 2010 mark the end of Australian dominance, which they had during the last decade, and the beginning of a new era of Indian dominance. So, today as we step into the new year, I am starting this cricket blog to present my "biased" views and some news from the world of cricket. Keep watching this space... ;-)
