Final: India Vs SL: Went down the drain

It has to happen. 7 out of 7 matches in the tournament were won by the team batting second, a new record. Sangakkara, after winning the toss put Indians into bat and his bowlers started off pretty well by taking early wickets.Wickets kept on falling at one end, but Sehwag was oblivious to it and was playing his natural game until Kulasekara sent him back to the pavilion. India was struggling at 60 for 5, when Raina and Jadeja showed some temparament and added 106 runs for the 6th wicket, before Jadeja was adjudged lbw to a skidder from Dilshan. But Raina continued his game and went on to score his 3rd ODI ton and helped India reach 245, which were not enough for the Lankans.

Indians also started off their bowling well with Nehra taking Tharangs in the very first over of the innings, but after that it was all Lanka. Although in the end, it looked like, Indians will give them a run for the money, but with Jayawardena at the crease, Sri Lanka always had an edge. Kulasekara was awarded with the Man of the match for his 4 wickets and Sanga was the Man of the Series for his consistent run throughout the series.

Now it has become all the more difficult for the Indians to reach the No 1 spot after losing this series. Anyways, lets hope atleast India retain the top spot in the Tests.
