Day 2: SA Vs Eng: A slight edge at the end of day 2 for the Proteas

England started off the day pretty well by taking 4 wickets for just 12 runs in the morning session courtesy Onions and Anderson. But the celebrations ended soon when Strauss also was showed the way towards the pavillion with just 2 runs on the board. Trott looked promising with his usual tantrums before playing the ball, but Steyn took him away for 20 and then Pietersen also followed Trott to the pavillion after 2 balls. The in-form Collingwood was also not able to make a mark and got caught in front of the wicket for 19. Then wicketkeeper batsman Prior took charge along with Bell, but he too got out soon and left Eng at 174 for 6. Then Broad showed some promise and batted well for his 25 before becoming prey to Steyn. So England is struggling at the end of the day at 241 for 7.
Although they are only 50 runs behind, it will be difficult for them to chase a score beyond 200 in the fourth innings. If I look at the batting card for England, Cook, Bell and I would say even Trott got a start but all of them failed to convert their starts. Had anyone of them carried his bat for a little bit longer period, it would have been a completely different picture. But anyways, the match is still far from over for England as in if they bowl well and restrict SA to less than 200 or 250, they are in for the game, but that will make the last match a dead rubber, which SA would have to play just for pride. Anyways, SA are still the favorites to win this one and I hope they win this to set up an intersting final at the Wanderers.
