A clean sweep by the Aussies...

After a 2-0 win over the windies, they did it again by beating Pakistan 3-0 and closed the gap with South Africa to just 2 points in the ICC Test Rankings. Ponting was ruthless in this match with a double ton in the first innings and a 89 in the second one. Pakistan was nowhere near the performance of the Aussies. Now they have to sit and re organise their team and strategy before their next test series. Aus won this one by a big margin of 231 runs after being let down in the previous one at the SCG, though they went on to win that one too, but that was a close one according to their standards.

Ricky Ponting was awarded with the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance with the bat in both the innings. In the bowling department, part timer Katich did a wonderful job by taking 3 wickets in the first innings and he also showed a decent one with the bat in the second innings with a ton in just 138 balls.

This defeat has led to a statement from the Pak skipper that the Aussies are the best in the world with all the players performing in their team when it matters.
